Regenerative Ag Resource

AN INFORMATION HUB AND PRIVATE CONSULTING FIRM HELPING BRING NATURE BACK INTO THE FOCUS OF FARMING

As the soil health movement gains momentum, regenerative agriculture has become a hot buzzword and promising pathway to profitable and resilient farming. Regenerative agriculture is often presented as a win-win solution to agronomic, environmental, and economic issues, but reliable, practical information on how to implement it can be difficult to find. The lack of a concise definition, misconceptions, and context-specific nature of regenerative farming further complicate its implementation for both farmers and agribusinesses developing sustainable agriculture solutions.

Regen Ag Resource bridges the gap between regenerative agronomic information, and implementation.

Regen Ag Resource is an independent consulting firm dedicated to expanding regenerative agriculture adoption with technical support services for farmers, agribusinesses, and food companies.

Challenges to Scaling Regenerative Agriculture

QUESTIONS ACROSS THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE

  • How can transitioning to towards regenerative agriculture support yields and profitability?

  • What specific regenerative practices and tools actually work in my area and context?

  • How do we evaluate the growing list of biological inputs, biostimulants, and organic inputs on the market?

  • What is the science behind soil biology, nutrient cycling, and biological inputs?

  • How can regenerative principles be integrated into commercial row crop, specialty crop, or niche crop production?

Unfortunately, much of the information available today falls into extremes:

  • Highly technical research that is difficult for practitioners to apply or scale.

  • Success cases from pioneering regenerative farmers that may take on different forms in different agricultural contexts.

Farmers and agricultural professionals deserve credible, practical, tools and information grounded in both science and real-world experience.

Regen Ag Resource is an independent consulting firm that provides education, network connections, and tailored guidance and tools to drive regenerative farming forward.

Expertise

AUGUST PLAMANN, MS, BSc, CCA

Regen Ag Resource is led by an agronomist and agricultural professional with nearly a decade of experience working across multiple sectors of the agricultural industry focused on regenerative farming, including:

  • Agronomy and crop consulting

  • Biological and organic ag inputs

  • Ag tech and sustainable agricultural tools

  • Soil health and regenerative farming systems

  • Agricultural research and field trials

  • Agricultural communications, education, and marketing

This work has involved collaborating with farmers, sustainable agriculture retailers, agricultural technology companies, and researchers, with a focus on bridging the gap between scientific research, technical solutions and practical farm management decisions.

Healthy soils are the foundation of productive farms, resilient ecosystems, and profitable agricultural businesses.

Gus applies a holistic, systems-based approach to agronomy, integrating principles from regenerative agriculture, agroecology, and biological farming. He has experience working with soil health testing, cover crop systems, compost-based fertility programs, biological and biostimulant inputs, integrated pest management, and precision agriculture technologies. While fully aware and transparent that he does not have experience or expertise in every farming context, he leverages a background in systems-based agronomy and a wide network of regenerative farmers, soil health experts, and service providers to develop solutions specific to the contexts of growers and agribusinesses.

Through his work with farmers, agricultural retailers, and ag technology companies, Gus has seen firsthand how soil health practices and biological management strategies can reduce dependence on synthetic inputs while supporting strong agronomic and economic outcomes.
